Welcome to the Star Trek Episode Guides. There are three Star Trek stacks designed to simulate the interface of the Federation's computer screens while displaying information on all the episodes of the original Star Trek series (TOS), Star Trek: The Next Generation (TNG), and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (DS9). They allow you to scan the episodes and read detailed plot descriptions and Episode Notes; check out the writers, directors, and guests; and store information on your personal video tape collection (if you have one). Simply place all the stacks in the same folder and they will recognize each other.
Hardware and Software Requirements

These stacks can operate on any Apple Macintosh computer with at least 2.5 megs of RAM. They require HyperCard 2.0 (2.1 is recommended) or higher and System 6.0.5 or higher to operate.
Installing the Stacks
-------------------
The stacks are all stored in self-extracting archive files (they decompress themselves). Simply double-click on the icon of the ".sea" file and tell it where to store the stack on your hard disk.
Documentation Files
------------------
The file "Star Trek Guides" is a TeachText document containing information (and pictures) on the stacks and all of their features. It is designed to be viewed on your computer. The file "Star Trek Guides.RTF" is a RTF (Rich Text Format) file containing a fully formatted version of the TeachText document, with more pictures included. All major word processor packages (MacWrite II, Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, WriteNow) can read the file for viewing or printing.
About the 2.1a Upgrade
--------------------
The newest versions of the Star Trek stacks (version 2.1a) were created because some resources included in the original verion 2.1 stacks were corrupted, causing computers without math coprocessors (FPUs) to crash. This has been repaired, along with some minor bug fixes, and the inclusion of information on the new Star Trek movie "Star Trek:Generations". If you have a copy of version 2.1 of the stacks, I highly recommend that you substitute these newer stacks and delete the old ones.
